How can I tell if a survey site is a scam or not?
If the site has been around for a while then that means people are satisfied with the payout. As long as there is no fees to join and no membership fees, then the site is okay to use.

When do I get paid?
Each site has a different payout level. Most are in the range of $10-$20. This means that before they write you a check, you have to earned at least this amount. They do this because it costs them money to process the payments and send the money out. It is impractical be writing checks for $1.50
